Thomas B. Wiggins

Biography

Mr. Wiggins was named Executive Vice President and CFO of Millyard Bank Nashua NH on May 16, 2024.  Mr. Wiggins has worked in the management and oversight of financial institutions for more than 30 years. Thomas began his career at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporations (FDIC). He took the FDIC job after graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1992 from the University of New Hampshire’s business school. At the FDIC, Mr. Wiggins specialized in the oversight of financial, strategic, and reputational risks at state-chartered banks and trust departments primarily in New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts. In 2005, Thomas left the FDIC to work for Piscataqua Savings Bank, Portsmouth, NH as Vice President of Finance, where he was responsible for financial accounting and investment management. In 2006, Mr. Wiggins left Piscataqua Saving Bank to help start Hampshire First Bank, Manchester, NH. At Hampshire First Bank, he was the Chief Financial Officer appointed to that position three months prior to bank’s opening in November 2006 until the bank sold in May 2012. During his tenure at Hampshire First Bank, he was responsible for financial reporting, investment decisions, asset liability management, regulatory and shareholder relations, and human capital. After leaving Hampshire First Bank, Mr. Wiggins took another Chief Financial Officer position for The Bank of Maine, Portland Maine. At The Bank of Maine, Thomas provided consulting help in resolving a number of material regulatory concerns, primarily related to credit risk management, strategic risk, and financial risk. Under Mr. Wiggins’ leadership, The Bank of Maine’s primary regulator, the Office of the Comptroller of Currency (OCC) lifted the bank’s “troubled condition” designation in October 2014. A year later, The Bank of Maine was sold to Camden National Bank. Shortly thereafter in 2016, Mr. Wiggins joined the OCC as a Large Bank Examiner. At the OCC, he led the oversight and supervision of financial risks at large banks.

Mr. Wiggins is a US Navy Submarine Service Veteran, a prior Board Member of the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire and the Manchester Kiwanis Club. He also served as a Budget Board member of Kennebunk. Mr. Wiggins lives in Merrimack, NH with his wife, Alison and has two grown children.
